OUR MISSION

Working collaboratively for upliftment of vulnerable children. Coordinate a network for distribution information and sharing with others. Representing the voice of many, we speak as one for the rights of the children wherever they may be.

OUR VISION

SEED believes action as a force for change : to protect children at risk, to protect their human rights and to prevent future generations from suffering the same lack of choices that presently forces children onto the street. We believe that it is possible to achieve better lives for vulnerable children, we believe that the way to do this is through the children themselves. SEED has a dream to see the societal changes that the children have a better option: the chance to shape their own lives in the manner of their choosing.

OUR ORGANIZATION

SEED was established in the year 1990 to bring some betterment in the lives of slum children through providing education. Later it was experienced that street children, runaways and orphans of both sex were at high risk on platforms of Howrah Station. For their survival and protection an intensive care and support in form of shelters and homes were constructed with the generous contribution of friends from abroad. SEED’s efforts helped to develop the status of these children in education, health, socioeconomic conditions and creativity. Besides all that our endeavor gave these children safety and showed them that someone cares about them giving them back their lost childhoods.
