HAMMER OF HELP - FUND RAISING GALA WITH ROYAL SOCIETY OF ST.GEORGE
In the last year SEED has captured attention from the public of Kolkata. The Royal Society of St.George Calcutta held a charity gala at the Oberoi Grand Hotel on 21st March 2007, with various items donated by celebrities going under the hammer. Held in association with Apeejay Surrendra, the proceeds of the auction went to SEED. The girls from SEED Girls Home performed several routines, and their Dhoom 2 Act and Bengali Folk Song Fagune r Mohnai were a particular hit, with the dancers leaving the stage to a standing ovation.

A LETTER OF LADY MAYORESS FROM LONDON
In May 2007 SEED had the pleasure to introduce its work to Lady Mayoress from London. In her letter to the Chief Functionary Md. Sadre Alam she writes:
Dear Mohammed Sadre Alam,
It was a pleasure to meet you in Calcutta last week. Thank you for telling us about your work. I will not forget the girls at the shelter. It was good to see them singing and dancing and they were delightful showing us their rooms and possessions. I was very impressed by the way they were so supportive on each other and the staff were very calm and caring. We then went on to the Drop-In-Centre which was very moving. The work of SEED is so important and I am grateful to you for taking the time to see us. I wish all the girls a safe and happy future.
Yours sincerely,
Lesley
